WHAT'S THIS BLOG ABOUT?

Having one foot on each side of the U.S./Mexico border fence as a young woman has been peculiar, but living consistently crossing the border as a child, confronting border waits, learning to love the sunrise while sitting in a car, and memorizing how to people watch, is what taught me to exist without much and appreciate the world's and people's beauty.

Coincidently, also an introvert who is perhaps, different. Not shy. Just quiet. Observant. Now I write about feeling strange in a world that's always talking. Strange but happy. Misunderstood at times. But serene in my own peace. Someone that's perhaps been outcasted, bullied, and ridiculed for being "weird". Sometimes even by those closest. I'm an awkard pensive girl who relies on her inner creativity to express life. I describe this is a catch twenty-two because it can be seen as a dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape or possible solution. When in fact, I don't need an escape. I love my story. I also write about the border. Because I have a unique perspective - being a binational citizen. I want to share my story with you.

My Catch 22 is a personal blog which is a representation of me, the person. There's a whole tribe of us. And we're not weird. For those that can relate that there's a different way to be. Young girls, boys, parents, women, anyone. My message is that hatred or rejection due to judging differences is not okay. There's a purpose for all humans. You are enough. You are beautiful, expressive, imperfect in your own unique way. That is something to celebrate. That is something to embrace and say out loud. Maybe together we can spread awareness.

Thank you so much for reading, and for sharing my blog posts, which may reach the person who needed to hear these words today. Possibly empower them to feel better about waking up in their introvert body.
